Sandra "Sandy" Keldsen

Sandra "Sandy" Kay Keldsen, 55, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012, from a brief illness. She was born June 30, 1957, in Santa Cruz.

Sandy enjoyed crafts, especially crocheting. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was currently employed at Lincoln Elementary School as a Teacher's Aide, prior to her 20 year tenure at Mission Park Elementary School.

She is survived by her daughters, Jaime Stevens and Christina Keldsen, both of Salinas; son, Billy (Debbie Michaels) Keldsen of Salinas; grandchildren, Steven Keldsen, Brian Kontos, Andrew, Austin and Ayden Stevens, all of Salinas; mother, May Root of Watsonville; brother, Bobby Root of Susanville and sisters, Natalie Serrano of Copperopolis and Wendy Root of Watsonville also survive.

She was preceded in passing by her father, Bob Root.

Visitation to take place Friday, January 4, 2013, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907.
