After serving in World War II
, he attended UC Davis where he earned a degree in agriculture. He used that knowledge to turn his father's dairy farm into a successful produce business. Stan was active in the local community, serving many years on the board of Naturipe Berry Growers, INC; a lifetime member of the Monterey County Sheriff's Posse, earning "Man of the Year" in 1978; and an active participant in the Monterey County Horseman's Association and St. Joseph's Parish.
Stan's family was the most important thing in the world to him and he loved horseback riding and camping with them. He also loved to ski, tend his garden, and fix anything that needed "fixin'".
