Eleanor Miller, 99, of Salinas, left this earth Friday, July 26, 2013. She was born March 9, 1914, in rural Cass County, Indiana. She was the second oldest of the five children of Emerson Glenn and Elma (Ball) Wolfe. Eleanor grew up in Elkhart, IN and graduated from Elkhart High School and moved to California in 1952.
Eleanor was an exceptional seamstress. She made everything from wedding dresses and suits, to quality custom clothes for her daughters and costumes for Las Vegas showgirls in her early California years. Bookkeeping was her profession until she retired. She loved flowers, birds, dolls and shopping almost as much as she loved her children and grandchildren.
Eleanor was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ken Miller; sister, Rosalee; sister, Mary; brother, Norman; her beloved Papa and Mamma; and stepson, Buddy, who all welcomed her into the wonderful beyond.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Honor Demaree, age 96, of Merrillvile, IN; daughters, Susan K. Miller of Salinas and Karen K. Fitch of Torrance; son, Allen K. Fitch of Akron, OH; grandsons, Bob Bianchi of Soledad, Daniel Messick of Clovis, Jason Fitch of St. Louis, MO and Jeffrey Fitch; granddaughter, Jeannine Fitch; and great-grandson, Logan of Akron, OH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest, with her loving Ken, on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road, San Jose, CA 95124.
