Ethel "Mae" White, 80, of Greenfield, passed away at home, surrounded by family, Wednesday, October 10, 2012.
Mae was born November 2, 1931 in Oklahoma. Her family left the Plains during the Dust Bowl Era and travelled west for better opportunities. She and her family found work in the San Joaquin Valley, picking cotton and other crops. She moved to Monterey County in the early 1940's, where she married her husband, Robert Leon White in 1955. They would later settle their family in Greenfield in 1962. Mae worked in Soledad, packing garlic in the fields.
