George V Bardin
George V Bardin, 88, passed away in the presence of his family Monday, April 22, 2013, at home in Salinas. He was born May 19, 1924 in Salinas to Dewey and Gertrude Bardin.
On September 6, 1947, he married Verl "Peggy" Plemmons in Salinas, where they spent their wonderful lives together.
George was also an avid hunter and fisherman. A founding member of the Carmel Gun Club, George spent a lifetime enjoying the great outdoors, or on the ocean in his boat, "Time Off," where he, and his fisherman buddies, could often been seen returning with their cooler full of freshly caught Salmon and Albacore from the beautiful Monterey Bay. His professional accomplishments were numerous. As the owner of Salinas Electric, he oversaw the installation of electrical services to many of the businesses and homes in Salinas and surrounding areas. Many families remember the joy George, and his wife, Peggy, brought to the community by owning and operating the River Road Tree Farm, where, for many years, people from all around could bring their families and together choose and cut their own Christmas trees.
George will be reunited with his wife, Peggy, in the San Francisco Bay by the Neptune Society.
George is survived by his son, Chuck (Dee) Bardin; daughter, Patricia Bardin; son, James Keen; daughter, Georgeann Keen; sister, Arlene (Joe) Blair; brother, Bill (Delores) Bardin; grandson, Christopher (Christine) Bardin; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
George was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
