Hugo A. Scattini

Hugo A. Scattini, 82, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012. He was born June 8, 1930, in Salinas.

Hugo grew up on the family farm in Greenfield and had been farming in Greenfield for more than 60 years. He loved farming.

Hugo was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a member of the Salinas Elks, a founding member of the Salinas Valley Independent Growers, board member of the Greenfield Fire Protection District for more than 40 years, board Member of the Greenfield Public Recreation District for over 30 years. He was a member of the Beet Growers Association and a Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Foundation member.

Hugo is survived by his wife, Theresa Scattini; nephews, Michael J. (Vickie) Griva, Jon Scattini; nieces, Catherine O'Brien, Paula Parola; sisters-in-law, Jo Scattini, Flo Griva; great-nephews, Peter Griva, Timothy O'Brien, Joseph O'Brien, Jeffery Parola, Jonathan Parola; and great-nieces, Ashley Hallock, Nichole Griva, Rebecca Griva, Rachael Pali, Ann Parola, Julie Parola, Melissa Scrafini, Stephanie Gonzalez, Mary Lynn Osteraa, Victoria Scattini, Jessica Scattini and Lindsay Mount.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Greenfield.

Rosary service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow the Mass at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Mee Memorial Hospital, or the .
