Karen Kimmel Parker, 56, of Arroyo Seco, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, June 13, 2012. She was born to Ron and Jane Kimmel on June 2, 1956 in Salinas. Karen retired from Superior Court of California, County of Monterey as a Deputy Court Clerk Supervisor in August of 2011 after serving 26 years.

Karen was an active member of the South Monterey County Fire Protection District Company 86, Station 2 (Arroyo Seco) for 12 years and of those years served as Fire Chief from 2006-2010. Karen was a social butterfly and loved her family and friends dearly. She loved to strike up a conversation with a total stranger which typically resulted in a lasting friendship. Karen's passions were FFA, Rodeo, Horses, Camping, Dancing, Karaoke and spending time with her family and friends.

Karen is survived by her husband of 34 years, Tommy Parker; children, Shelley Parker, Tommy Parker Jr., & Karie Branch; grandchildren, Katlyn, Dustin, Devin & Dylin Parker, Claire & Piper Bush, Malachi & Baby Branch due November 2012. Her sister Julie Kimmel Vultaggio and her life long friend Sharon Andrus Ross.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 1:30pm in Arroyo Seco at the Fire Station, 46700 Arroyo Seco Rd, Greenfield, Ca 93927.
