Kenneth A. Digges Obituary
Kenneth A. Digges

The family and friends of Kenneth Alfred Digges lost a wonderful man Sunday night as the result of his sudden death. Kenny was born Aug. 14, 1960 in Salinas, to Leon Edward Digges (deceased) and Shirley Mae Cavalli. He joined siblings, Diana, Richard and Debra in their San Ardo home.

Kenny began riding motorcycles at the age of seven and was soon participating in short-track races across the state. On the day he died he had done what he enjoyed best … riding his Harley to see the Super Bike races in Monterey.

Kenny was a man of many talents. He began his career farming with his father, Leon, on the ranch in San Ardo. He worked as a bus driver and maintenance worker at San Antonio School. He later began a career in residential and business carpentry. He became a bridge carpenter, building foundations, pile driving, and forming soffets and decks for highway bridges. A career with the State of California began as a carpenter at the Coalinga State Hospital and ended with as a maintenance mechanic at Salinas Valley State Prison where he was employed until his death.

Kenny married Julie Echenique Trescony on July 7, 2007. In addition to being a step-father to her two children, Kenny was also a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He also leaves his much loved mother, Shirley, who turns 89 on July 19.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, or the cancer treatment organization of your choice.
