Luveria Camel, 92, of Salinas, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, in her home. She was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Dallas, TX.
She had been a resident in Salinas since 1948. She was an active member of St. James CME Church and an avid bingo player and Dallas Cowboy fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, John L Camel and seven of her 21 children.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, 14 children, 88 grandchildren, 197 great-grandchildren, 58 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Junie Darper; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 315 E. Alvin Dr., Salinas.
