Paul E. Heinrichs
Paul E. Heinrichs, 79, of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He was born October 3, 1933, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He was an accountant for the agriculture firm California Coastal Farms, and A-1 Rents and was a member of Salinas Elks Lodge No. 614 and SIRS.
Paul graduated from Salinas High School in 1951 and attended Hartnell College. He served in the U.S. Army, loved sports, especially basketball and the Golden State Warriors, was fond of traveling, especially to visit his son and family in Austria. He also loved fishing, hunting, and visiting with family and friends. During the many fun-filled Heinrichs family get-togethers, Paul could invariably be found behind his self-built brick barbeque calmly watching over the food on the grill. Paul was above all, a kind hearted man with only positive things to say about the people around him.
Paul is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruby M. Heinrichs of Salinas; daughter, Tina Tragarz of San Jose; son, Paul (Doris) Heinrichs Jr. of Austria; grandchildren, Kaila Sergent of Davis, Christopher Sergent of San Jose, Katherine Tragarz of San Jose, Niklas Heinrichs of Austria, and Anne Heinrichs of Austria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Bertha Heinrichs.
Private family services have been held.
Donations in Paul's memory can be made to Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 957-A Blanco Circle, Salinas, CA 93901, or the charity or your choice.
