Philip M. "Mike" Williams
Philip Michael Williams, of Castroville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014. He was 77. He was born Feb, 15, 1937, in Indiana.
Mikes family tree is deeply rooted in Indiana, his branches spread to California where he made his home for more than 45 years. An educator and a visionary, Mike's faith, adventurous spirit, humor, and passion for people endeared him to all whose lives he touched - be it for a moment or a lifetime.
As husband and father, he was supportive, loving, sensitive, sometimes ornery and always precious.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lita; two daughters, Tamara Dawn and Janna Jo Williams (Anton Tymoshenko); stepson, Jerome Pennington (Mari) and his granddaughter, Sophia Rose, and stepson, James Pennington. He is also survived by his brother, David Williams; sister, Carol Impola, and youngest brother, Neil Williams, all of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Philip J. Williams, a Methodist Minister for 65 years and his beloved mother, Mildred.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Harbor Chapel, 620 Dolan Road, in Moss Landing.

Where through the years, he received thoughtful, compassionate care from dedicated, young therapists while his fellow swimmers provided inspiration, motivation and an audience for his stories and humor.
