Theresa Carvalho Carroll

Theresa Perillat Carroll (Theresa Carvalho) passed away peacefully October 22, 2012 at home in Ashland, OR, surrounded by her loving family. Her cherished husband and partner, Jack Carroll, passed before her in February 2011, in Saratoga Springs, NY. Theresa and Jack, together 37 wonderous years, built their 'Home Sweet Home' in Wilton, NY.

Theresa was born August 2, 1928 in Salinas, to Frank and Josephine Carvalho (Marcellino). Her father and his family and her mothers family had immigrated from the Azores in the early 1900's. Theresa, her brother Dick and their mom, Josephine lived with her grandfather, Manuel Marcellino (Manny) at his home on Romie Lane. Her only sibling, her older brother, Dick, passed before her in September 1956, affectionately called her "sister" all his life. She filled the void of his passing with his daughter, Siglinde. She graduated from Salinas High in 1945 and went on to graduate from St. Mary's School of Nursing in San Francisco. Nursing, which became her lifelong career, embodied her nurturing, compassionate and loving spirit.

Theresa was married to Robert J. Perillat from 1950 to 1969. He passed away in 1991. They had 11 children, Bobby, Susan, Tommy (passed before her in August 1972,) Mary, Mark, Peter, Billy, Lizabeth, Johnny, Danny and Kathleen; 12 grandchildren, Lisa, Aaron, Andre, Jessica, Erik, Danielle, Thomas, Renaud, Jasper, Alicia, Lola and Otto and three great-grandchildren, Niki, Elie and Rivers. Also, five stepchildren, Michael, Stephanie, Wendy, Jacquelyn and David and four step-grandchildren, Sean, Kilalla, Araglin, and Liam. Together they would be known as the 'Carrollats.'

Mom's wish to donate her body to medical research so that others may have a better life was realized through the help of Ashland Community Hospice and MedCure.

In remembrance of her, she asked that we "do a kind deed or word for someone who needs you." In lieu of flowers, she asked that her ashes be blown to the wind so that flowers may grow and that we donate to our .

Mom, along with all her family, would like to include a Very Special Thank You to her beloved angels (daughters) Susannah and Kathleen, who devoted so much of their love and precious time to her care over the past years.

Mom's last words..."I am going to miss you and I love you all so very much... LOVE is all that matters..."
