Vern Coffey, 74, native and lifelong resident of Salinas, passed from this life to be with his Loving Lord on February 27, 2014. Vern was raised in Salinas, and retired after 32 years of dedicated service as Manager of mail processing at the U.S. Postal Service. He had also served in the U.S. Army. He was a founding member of Northside Assembly of God Church in Salinas and member of the GRAMPA Model A Club.
Vern is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Pat; brothers, Richard (June) Coffey and Bill (Carolyn) Coffey; sisters, Jean (Keith) Miller and Darlene (Ronnie) Zimmerman, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Coffey, two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 1-9pm at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905.
A Service celebrating Vern's life will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11am at Northside Assembly of God Church 55 Natividad Rd. Salinas, CA 93905.
Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.
