Vickie Rebuffo, 65, of King City, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, from a recent illness. Most people knew her as Annie or Rawhide. She was born Nov. 9, 1948, in New London, CT.
She spent most of her childhood years in Salinas. Vickie married Tom Rebuffo of Salinas in 1965. This year would have completed 49 years of marriage.
Vickie spent most of her life on the back of a horse. She had ridden in the California Horse Parade for more than 50 years. In 2013, she was awarded a buckle from the California Rodeo Association. She had won numerous parade awards throughout the years, with her Legends of the West and Civil War costumes. Vickie was a jack of all trades from horse training, custom jewelry and raising birds. Her talents were many, and love for animals endless. Always greeted you with a smile and handshake and you could count on her to lend a hand. Vickie will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rozalia and Walter Podeszwa; and brothers, Edward Podeszwa, Thomas Podeszwa and Fred Monroe.
Vickie is survived by her children, Terra Rebuffo of Carmel and Tracy Rebuffo of King City; sister, Judy Monroe Wright of Salinas and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the family home in King City.
