Hector Chavez, 58, lifelong resident of Salinas, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Bakersfield. He was born Nov. 15, 1955, in Ft. Ord.
Hector was a self-employed sand blaster for more than 20 years. He was a charter member of the Hell's Angels Bike Club for 28 years in Santa Cruz, Bakersfield and previously in Monterey.
Hector is survived by his daughters, Virginia (Robert) Lucio, Mary Lina (George) Lopez, Noel (Emilio) Magallon; son, Hector Chavez II; mother, Mary Lou Vizcarra; brothers, "Tiny" Chavez and Samuel (Nea) Vizcarra; sister, Deborah (Steve) Whitlock; two step-sisters and one step-brother, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, along with numerous aunts, uncles and other loving relatives.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Apostolic Community Life Center located on Market and Williams in Salinas and also from 1 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905.
Cremation to follow services.
