Viola Jean Williams
Viola Jean Williams, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014. She slipped away quietly at the Windsor Gardens Rehabilitation Center. Viola was born March 30, 1926 in Buckley, WA, to Guy and Agnes Mason.
In 1949, Viola met the love of her life, Robert D. Williams, Sr. at the roller skating rink in Aberdeen, WA. They were married Aug. 5, 1950, and was blessed with three children. The family moved from Hoguian, WA to Salinas in 1962. Viola spent the remainder of her life happily as mother and housewife. She did not like the term "domestic engineer". She always said that she should be called what she was - a housewife and mother. Viola enjoyed rollerskating very much. She also liked to crochet, knit, dance and work fill-in puzzles.
Viola is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert Dean Williams, Sr.; sons, Robert, Jr. and Theodore Williams; daughter, Rebecca Williams; grandchildren, Robert Williams III, Tosha Churches, Daniel Williams and Jennifer Cox; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Hayley Paddock; brother, Guy Mason, Jr. and her sister, Deloris Mason.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Agnes Mason, and her granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Williams.
At Viola's request, there will be no services. Her family will deal with their grief in private, as was her wish.
