SALINAS

Sam Trevino, Jr.

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Sam Trevino, Jr., 77, on Friday, April 25, 2014, in Salinas. He was born Aug. 24, 1936, in Dallas, TX, where he was raised until 1947. The family then moved to Greenfield, where Sam resided and lived several years before making Salinas his permanent residence.

Sam was a well-known Farm Labor Contractor in the greater Salinas valley area for more than 35 years, until his early retirement. The love of the morning air, the smell of the fields and the serenity of Earth were some of his greatest loves. The family extends warm thanks to all those who helped treat and care for our father.

Sam is survived by his wife, Arlene Trevino; sons, Sam (Chris) Trevino III and Pete Trevino; daughters, Leticia (Terry) Trevino and Lisa (Bernard) Hernandez; stepchildren, Yolanda (Dennis) Day, Sandra (Manuel) De Leon and Sergio (Michael) De Leon, Jr.; grandchildren, Anthony Trevino, Andrew Trevino, Dominic Hernandez, Nicholus Hernandez, Michael Solano, Minerva Solano, Ashly Alexander, and Emma Day; siblings, Joe (Mary) Trevino, Larry Trevino, Jessie Howard, Norma Apodaca, and Dora (Michael) Love; in-laws, Julia Diaz, Beverly Diaz, Rudy Duarte; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and with special mention, Ralph Munoz. Sam was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Trevino; parents, Sam Trevino, Sr. and Josephine Jimenez; and siblings, Alice Munoz, Margie Bathke, Delia dela Cruz, Andy Trevino and Larry Trevino; with special mention, Connie Gallardo Trevino.

At Sam's request, there will be no services.

Private Interment will take place in Greenfield.
