Linda Susan Broome
Linda Susan Broome, 66, of Salinas, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014. She was born Dec. 27, 1947, in Los Angeles.
Linda was a beautiful, loving, giving woman. She truly had a heart of gold, always thinking of others and putting them before herself. She never uttered a bad word about anyone. She loved her family deeply and they were everything to her. She enjoyed gardening and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She absolutely had a love for animals big and small and it broke her heart to see animals wondering the streets.
She will be extremely missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Erma O'Neal and her nephew, Greg Laybourne.
She is survived by her husband of more than 42 years, Thomas Broome of Salinas; daughter, Joy (Dustin) Hedberg of Salinas; grandchildren, Wyatt Hedberg and Brooke Hedberg both of Salinas; sister, Peggy (James) Laybourne of Eagle Point, OR; nieces, Yvonne (Tim) Tourne of Eagle Point, OR, and Rene (John) Sahr of Eagle Point, OR; and numerous other relatives near and far.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the COPD Foundation and The Salinas Animal Shelter.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.
Reception to follow immediately after service at her daughter's home.
