Pete. N. "Papa" Perez, Sr.

Pete N. "Papa" Perez, Sr., 64, of Greenfield, passed away at home Thursday, July 17, 2014, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Pete was born Sept. 8, 1949 in Ruleville, MS and had lived in Monterey County for most of his life. He was employed in produce for more than 30 years, having most recently worked for Crop Production Services. Pete enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, hunting, barbequing, spending time with family and friends, and was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders and A's. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He considered his friends and coworkers his second family and would do everything to help anyone in need. He and his wife celebrated and renewed their marriage vows on July 13th of this year.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Terri; five children, Pete (Michelle ) Perez, Jr., Raymond, Librada "Yaya" (Ramiro) Garcia, Andrea "Chica" Perez, Adam Pete "Tiger" Perez; grandchildren, Kayla, Brandy, Regina, P.J., Yelena, Rayray, Madison, Jojo, Victoria, Isabella, Alexandra, and Terriangel; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jace, Vince; mother, Jovita; sister, Adela (Jeff) Perez Holshue; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose, and brother, Jose Angel "Joe".

The family extends a special thank you to everyone who provided support and care to Pete during his battle.

"God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers."

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church followed with burial at the Greenfield Cemetery.
