Guido Antone Pezzini

Guido Antone Pezzini, son of Valentino and Lucia Pezzini, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, in Castroville. He was 81 years old.

He was born July 21, 1933 in Pacific Grove, to Valentino and Lucia Pezzini, both from Italy. He also had a brother, Valentino Jr. and a sister, Clara Greco. Guido started working with his father, Valentino, at Pezzini Farms growing heirloom artichokes in Castroville.

Guido was a handsome, kind, hardworking, fun loving and generous man. Anyone who met him would feel like they'd known him for years and he always had a smile on his face. He was a farmer, a Catholic, a proud Italian, a 49er faithful, a great dancer and a true gentleman. He will be missed by many.

Guido is survived by his seven children, Laura and John Frise, Tony and Jolynn Pezzini, Paul and Tracy Pezzini, Cathy and Les Tottino, Matt and Kathy Pezzini, Mark Pezzini, and Eileen and Scott McAlister.
