Theodore "Ted" R.

Chamberlin

John 14:1-4 "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going."

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, called his faithful servant, Ted Chamberlin, to his eternal rest on the morning of Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. He lived a full and rewarding life, committed to his family and to his undying faith in Jesus Christ.

Ted was born June 11, 1936 in Conrath, WI, to Lyle and Waive (Phillips) Chamberlin. During his youth, the family moved to Bakersfield, where he attended high school and met the love of his life, Leanne. While in Bakersfield, he worked for Kern County Land Company, and then many years for Tenneco Oil Company in the accounting department. In 1974, they moved to Salinas, where he worked as Controller for General Vineyard Services.

Ted retired in 2011 and he and Leanne enjoyed many travels to various locations in the United States. They enjoyed cruising in Alaska, the Mississippi, and recently the Maine coast.

He was very active in his home church, St. Ansgar's Lutheran in Salinas. He served as President of the Church Council, as well as many committees. He had a very strong love and faith in his Lord.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Waive (Phillips) Chamberlin; his brothers, Bill, George, C.W., and sister, Gwyn Degner.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Leanne; their daughter, Laurie and son-in-law, George (Owen); grandsons, Adam and Austin (Wulf); sister, Donna Worne; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Judy (Glenn); and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, 72 E. San Joaquin St., Salinas, CA 93901.

In lieu of flowers, it was Ted's wish that donations be made to St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, 72 E. San Joaquin St., Salinas, CA 93901
