Albert Harry Chobanian
Albert H. Chobanian, 89, of Salinas, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012. He was born June 17, 1923 in Chicago, IL, to Nishan and Mary Chobanianin. He courageously battled Alzheimer's for the past few years. He is now at peace with his wife and The Lord.
Albert worked for the Chicago Park District for a number of years before meeting the love of his life, Joyce Chobanian, through a religious publication. He really enjoyed driving the heavy machinery and often bragged about his perfect driving record. After meeting, the couple decided to marry and reside in the Salinas Valley, a mid point between the two origins, Washington State and Illinois. Albert worked as a corrections officer before operating the Snow White Drive In during the early seventies. Thereafter, he had a few positions in the real estate business. His motto was, "Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained." His family was his biggest asset, which meant everything to him.
Albert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Mary Chobanian and his sister, Rose Benana.
He is survived by his three sons, John A. Chobanian (Julie), Richard A. Chobanian (Amanda), Anthony A. Chobanian (Vanessa); his grandchildren, Katherine, Jack, Mackenzie, Gary, Diana, Matt; his brother, George Chobanian; and sister, Elizabeth Vogelson.
Private family services will be held.
