Elsie Scott

Elsie Scott passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Pacific Coast Care, where she was a resident for five years. She was 94 and would have celebrated her 95th birthday on November 23rd.

Elsie was the daughter of Swiss immigrant parents, John and Teresa (Sargenti) Tamagni Sr. She was born November 23, 1917 on the family farm located on the Salinas Monterey Highway.

Elsie was the ultimate mother, lady and hostess, always caring for those she loved and those who were around her. Elsie and her husband, Scotty, in their retirement years, enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, especially to the New England States, to enjoy the fall colors. She enjoyed her grandchildren to the fullest, and loved them unconditionally. Her grandchildren remember her playing the card game "31" with them. True to her competitive spirit, she would not let them win unless they truly earned it!

Elsie was an avid bridge player and enjoyed working in her garden. She was an active parent at Sacred Heart School and Palma High School when her children were younger. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Madonna del Sasso Church

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron (Scotty) Scott in 1994; her daughter, Nancy Osgood in 2003; and her daughter-in-law, Laurie (Dennis) Scott in 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Louise Griffith, Irma Tamagni; and brothers, John Tamagni Jr. and Leo Tamagni.

Elsie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Kelly Richlin of Salinas; and son, Michael Scott of Gold Canyon, AZ. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Chris Busby of Washington, Josh Busby of Idaho, Julie Busby of Marina, Scott (Erin) Richlin of Olathe, KS and Kyle Richlin of Orlando, FL; also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Grady, Finnley and Sutton Richlin of Olathe, KS, Anissa Busby, Daerius Waters, Leif Waters and Ava Reyes.

Elsie is also survived by her loving, compassionate, and caring "ANGELS" at Pacific Coast Care. We will be forever grateful for all you did for our mother.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 16, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Rosary will be held Friday evening, November 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., at the Brother Rice Chapel located at the corner of Acacia and Iverson Streets.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church, 320 E. Laural Drive, Salinas, CA.

Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damien Way, Salinas, CA.
