Luis Saldana, 85, peacefully at rest in Watsonville, on Sunday, February 24, 2013, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Luis was born August 19, 1927, in San Bernardo, Guanajuato, MX, to Ramon Saldana and Juana Armenta.
He was a very happy man who worked as a gardener at San Andreas Regional Center for more than 20 years. A lover of music, he enjoyed visiting and telling stories with his family and friends. While he had no children of his own, his greatest joy in life was his family, especially his nephews and nieces.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters; Eliseo Saldana, Gabriela Sanchez, Elvira Saldana, Jesus Saldana and Guadalupe Avila and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Manuel, Ezequiel and Ignacio Saldana.
Visitation: Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 5 to 9 p.m., with Vigil Service at 7 p.m., at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville, CA 95076, 831-724-4751.
Funeral Mass: Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at Valley Catholic Church, with interment to follow in Valley Public Cemetery.
