Arthur Ernest Jackson

Arthur Ernest Jackson, 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, March 13, 2013. He was born in Oakland and was a longtime Salinas resident.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving various medals and unit citations. After being honorably discharged, he became involved in the motion picture industry, where he remained for more than 50 years. A member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, "Art" became President, then Business Agent of the I.A.T.S.E., Local 611. A generous and caring man, Art was liked by all.

Survived by brothers, Robert and Raymond Jackson, both of Salinas; daughters, Tanya Pinkerton (Michael) of El Sobrante, Cheri Jackson of Salinas, and Robyn Jackson of Las Vegas, NV; son, Rick Jackson (Taylor Summers) of Capistrano Beach; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 1:30 p.m., at the Veteran's Memorial Park, 855 E. Laurel Dr., Salinas, CA 93906.
