Judy left this world in peace with God, herself and her family on Saturday, April 27, 2013. She was born January 22, 1956 in Tracy, to Ruben and Carmen De La Torre.
Judy attended school in Castroville where she lived most of her life and graduated from Alisal High School. She was married to Joe Madrigal for 40 years.
Judy was a happy and loving person, always thought of others before herself and accepted the trials of life with patience and fortitude. She was an excellent cook, using and improving her mother's recipes and always trying new ones. These traits she was passing on to her granddaughters, with whom she enjoyed many happy times. Judy enjoyed weekend outings with her mother and sister exploring garage sales, always looking for that special something. She loved the feel and taste of the ocean, constantly adding to her shell collection. Judy enjoyed many happy and memorable occasions with her loving family.
Judy was a member of the De La Torre and Raya families. At this year's family reunion, she will be especially remembered and missed by her aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jessie Madrigal; grandparents, Alberto and Halaria De La Torre, Antonio and Andrea Raya; and God-son, Christopher J. Torres.
Besides her husband, Joe; she leaves a son, Joe and his wife, Sabrina and two beautiful granddaughters, Chyna and Tailee, who were her shining stars. She also leaves her brothers, Adrian, Ruben, Albert, Phillip; her only sister, Valerie (Ray) and her sisters-in-law, Ann, Lisa, and Delia.
The family thanks all the numerous doctors and nurses from Memorial Hospital, Natividad Hospital, and Stanford Hospital who, while attending her, showed great love, patience, and hope.
