Robert J. Bomar

Robert J. Bomar, 88, of Salinas, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 while in the presence of immediate family members. He was born in Modesto, CA on June 5, 1925.

He served in the military in the United States Navy from December 1941 to December 1945.

Bob retired from Shippers Cooler in Salinas, with an active membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 39 since 1955.

Bob enjoyed the sport of archery, actively involved in the Salinas Bowmen, National Field Archery Association and California Bowhunters. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling cross-country in his motor home and spending time with family and close friends.

He is survived by his sisters, Joyce Galley of Salinas CA, and Christine Bell of Salinas; Stepson, Jim Cox of Salinas; stepdaughters, Beverly Brooks of Merced CA and Patricia Thompson of Burney CA; 5 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Private Family Services shall be held
