CANTON, GA. - Joe David Kyle, Sr. age 86 of Canton, GA passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Northside Hospital Cherokee, surrounded by his wife and daughter. Joe David Kyle was born December 1, 1931 in Bluefield, West Virginia. He grew up in Hillsville, VA where he graduated from Hillsville High School in 1949. He went on to graduate from Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN and Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia where he studied theology and economics.

In 1958, he married the love of his life, Joleen Ann Beasley. He started his career as a minister and went on to enter the business world as the owner of two part time job agencies, Snelling & Snelling and PartTime in Greensboro, NC, where he lived for 35 years. He founded the Greensboro Episcopal Housing Ministry and later served as the Executive Director of Housing Ministries in Wilmington, DE and Johnson City, TN.

After retiring in 2003 he moved to Canton, GA to be closer to his daughter and granddaughter. He was a founding member of Resurrection Anglican Church, where he served in many capacities.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, reading, bible studies, rock collecting, researching his ancestry and traveling. His greatest joy was his immediate and extended families.

He is survived by his wife, Joleen Kyle of Canton, GA, son Joe David Kyle, Jr. (Rebekah Stewart) of Jacksonville, FL, daughter Diane Kyle Tattersall of Canton, GA, grandchildren Jordan Tattersall, Kirby Tattersall and Christine Ann Tattersall, his wife's family, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service was held on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 4:00 p.m at Resurrection Anglican Church in Woodstock, GA. A memorial service will also be held on Saturday, May 26, at 5:00 p.m. at the Hillsville Christian Church in Hillsville, VA.

Donations to the Resurrection Anglican Church in Woodstock, GA or Hillsville Christian Church in Hillsville, VA may be made in lieu of flowers.
