Obituary Condolences

Ruth Driscoll, 98, formerly of Woodstown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 surrounded by family in Forest, Virginia. She was the daughter of Dr. August C. Valentin and Lila (Haag) Valentin of Philadelphia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Walter R. Driscoll, and three brothers: August C. (wife, Anne) Valentin, Jr., Lt. Col. (Ret.) Alaric William (wife, Margaret) Valentin, and Roy C. Valentin.

She is survived by her four loving sons (and their spouses): Michael (Deborah) Driscoll of Lynchburg, VA, Patrick (Lisa) Driscoll of Hillsville, VA, Kevin (Karen) Driscoll of Summerfield, FL and W. Mark (Joanne) Driscoll of Concord, NC. She cherished her nine grandchildren Michael (Candice), Kelly (Heidi), Julie, Krista, Cory, Kelsey, Forrest (Aimee), Ryan, Colleen and her four great-grandchildren Rylie, Kacie, Amelia, and Alexander. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Sr. (Mary Lou) Benedict L.S.P. of Philadelphia, PA.

She attended high school at Friends Select School in Philadelphia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from Brenau Women's College in Gainesville, GA where she excelled on the field hockey and tennis teams. She taught physical education, earth science and coached field hockey; retiring from Woodstown High School in 1978. All

remember her grace, her quick and beautiful smile, and her love for family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, June 23rd in the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit/St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 51 Broad St., Woodstown, NJ. Friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of Mass. Interment will follow Mass at the Salem County War Veterans Cemetery in Pilesgrove.

Memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 5300 Chester Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19143.
