Alvera Dezanet, 101, Caledonia, recently of Silver Creek Terrace and Elk Haven Nursing Home, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 4, 1913, in Byrnedale, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Giovanna Trojan Dezanet.
She lived all her life in Bennett's Valley. She worked at Sylvania of Emporium for 47 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1975.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Force, the Bennetts Valley Senior Center, the Valley Legion Auxiliary and was an avid Bingo player. She was a tireless volunteer and the matriarch of the family who will be sadly missed by all of her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was also preceded in death by sisters: Amelia Bonfardine, Gilda Dezanet, Ethel Dezanet, Olga Simbeck, one sister in infancy and three sisters in Italy; three brothers: Victor and Orlando Dezanet and one in Italy.
There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Force, with the Rev. Fr. William Sutherland celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Force.
Memorial donations may be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Joseph Church or the Valley American Legion.
