Alvin Lee Kendall, 81, Big Run died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Jefferson Manor.
Born Oct. 10, 1933, in the Big Run area, he was a son of the late Don and Mary Olivette Peace Kendall.
On Dec. 24, 1957, he married the former Dorothy Ann Gray. She preceded him in death July 23, 2007.
Alvin attended the Scotland Avenue Church of God. He was a man of great faith sharing the love of God with whoever crossed his path. He also enjoyed reaching others through lay witness missions. He formerly taught Sunday School.
Mr. Kendall was the founder of his own printing company, Kendall's Kreations in Big Run. He had previously worked as a printer with the Punxsutawney Spirit for 21 years.
He was a board member of the Fairview Cemetery Association.
He is survived by one son, Kirby Kendall and wife, Debbie, of Reynoldsville; two grandchildren, Heather and Cory Kendall; one brother, Devere Kendall and wife, Lillian, of Punxsutawney.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Lynn Kendall; a brother, George Kendall; and a sister, Donna Frantz.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at the Scotland Avenue Church of God, officiated by Pastor Kyle Yates.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Big Run.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Big Run.
