Burnett R. "Bernie" Haag, 92, of 240 Main Street, Troutville, died Monday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2015, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.
Born Sept. 12, 1922, in Brady Township, he was a son of the late Arthur B. and Anna Belle Dusch Haag. On June 26, 1944, he was married to Irene Whitesell Haag. She preceded him in death Aug. 2, 2010.
Bernie was a 1940 graduate of Brady Township High School. Before retirement, he was the owner/operator of Haag Tire Service in Reynoldsville for 15 years.
He served as a U.S. Army Technician Fourth Grade during World War II.
Bernie was a former president and member of the Punxsutawney Antique Car Club. He was a founder and member of the Gateway Ramblers Band for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed being with family and friends.
He was a member of Luthersburg Methodist Church, Luthersburg.
Bernie is survived by a son, Lee B. (Eileen) Haag of Troutville; a daughter, Linda D. (Leroy) Yohe of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Mae Bowers of Punxsutawney.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Bish and the Rev. Kevin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Rockton Cemetery.
