Carol P. O'Hara, 79, of Catholic Church Road, Sigel, Pa., and formerly of Franklinville, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, Pa.
Born on May 23, 1937, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of Aleck Phillips and Lillian Nolan Phillips. Carol was married to Richard C. O'Hara, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1983.
Carol was a 1955 graduate of Ten Broeck Academy.
She was an avid bowler, and ran the Franklinville Jr. Bowling League for several years. She retired in 2002 from the Franklinville Central School District where she had worked as a teacher's aide, office assistant, and "the lunch money lady". After she retired, Carol really enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors, especially hiking and experiencing the Rocky Mountains.
She also loved making plastic canvas crafts, and watching and feeding the birds outside her window. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Michael O'Hara of Morrison, Colorado; and two daughters, Linda Knepshield of Rock Hill, S.C. and Colleen O. Williams (husband Richard Williams Jr.) of Sigel, Pa.; three grandchildren: Richard Williams III, Terri Lynne Knepshield, and Tanner Knepshield; one sister, Kathryn Friend of LeRoy, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Brian Phillips.
