Dorothy J. Dietrich, 92 years old, went home with her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016.
She was born on Oct. 12, 1923, in Johnstown, Pa., a daughter of George B. and Lucretia (Stuckey) Stutzman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of more than 61 years, Robert F. Dietrich; her son, Bruce G. Dietrich; one brother, Bruce Stutzman; five sisters: Louise, Alberta, Sara and Vera Stutzman and Catherine Mostoller; and one niece, Karen Leffler.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Jacqueline R. Leffler; her son, R. James (Joyce) Dietrich; her daughter, Janice L. Dietrich; four grandchildren: Amy (Jason) Bonnar, Robb (Emily) Dietrich, Kayla and Kyle Brown; four great-grandchildren: Bethany and Jameson Bonnar, Jack and Simon Dietrich; her niece, Rebecca Leffler; her nephews: Ralph Mostoller, George (Elaine) Mostoller, Walter (Linda) Leffler and Paul (Carol) Leffler; and her special friends, Barry and Lindie Eash and Cory and Barb Thomas.
She was known for her great tasting potato salad, stuffing, and pickled beets and eggs. Dorothy was loving and generous, always wanting to give things away. She enjoyed playing cards; Skip-Bo and One in a Million were her favorites. Her day wasn't complete unless she finished her daily Jumbles and watched the drama unfold in Days of Our Lives. She loved talking on the phone with family and friends. Dorothy always said she could be ready to take a trip in five minutes. She enjoyed riding many miles with the love of her life and after 1,572 days apart, she and Bob have been reunited to take their next journey together.
Dorothy worked at National Radiator Corp., before marrying. She was a member of Bethel U.M. Church in Salix, Pa., and the Society of Farm Women.
Family and friends were received Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825.
