Douglas E. Kalgren, 56, Penfield, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Penn Highlands Healthcare, DuBois.
Born Feb. 13, 1958, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Earl A. and Macie M. Reinard Kalgren.
He married Gail Shoemaker on Sept. 18, 1976, in DuBois. She survives.
Douglas graduated from DuBois Area High School in 1976. He worked as a truck driver and equipment operator for Huston Township in Penfield.
Douglas was a former Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop #22 in Sabula.
He was a member of the Past to Present Machinery Association, the Susquehanna Antique Machinery Association, the Nittany Antique Machinery Association, the Bennetts Valley Rod and Gun Club, as well as a former Huston Township supervisor and auditor.
His interests included hunting, fishing, antique farm machinery, and woodworking. However, his family was always first in his heart.
He was Protestant by faith.
Survivors also include two sons, Douglas (Tammy) Kalgren and Donald (Lisa) Kalgren, both of Penfield; a daughter, Shawna Kalgren of Penfield; four grandchildren: Travis, Dylan, Abigail, and Alyson, all of Penfield; a brother, Melvin (Mary Lynn) Kalgren of DuBois; two sisters, Connie (Harold) Koppenhaver of Reynoldsville and Debra (John) Kramer of DuBois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Adamson Funeral Chapel Inc. in DuBois. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Mick Ent officiating. Interment will be in Conway Cemetery.
