Douglas "Beef" L. Smelko, 47, of Reynoldsville, Pa., died on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital in Punxsutawney, Pa.
Born Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1970, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of Larry Smelko and Toni (Veitz) Smelko of Reynoldsville, Pa.
He was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles and the Carpenter Union. He enjoyed woodworking. He loved to spend time with family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he survived by his daughters, Haley Engeholm (Robert) of Anita, Pa., and Charity Yenzi (Troy) of Reynoldsville; son, Brandon James (Crystal) of Punxsutawney, Pa.; sisters, Andrea Smelko of Erie, Pa., Stacey Harper of Reynoldsville, Pa., and Karen Whipple (George) of DuBois, Pa.; brother, Dave "Ducky" Shields of Home, Pa.; former wife and best friend, Darla Smelko; four grandchildren: Calla, Fawn, Briar and Harper; and two nieces, Rose and Megan
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, located at 607 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, with the Fr. William Barron officiating. Interment will be in Adrian Anita Catholic Cemetery, Anita, Pa.
