Florence Alice "Mom" Steiner, 90, passed away Sept. 19. 2014, in New Port Richey, Fla., where she lived with her daughter Kellie.
Born June 28, 1924, in Osceola Mills, she was a longtime resident of DuBois, before moving to Florida.
She was a longtime employee of the former Holiday lnn of DuBois and spent most of her life working in the hospitality industry. She very much enjoyed the interaction that it provided her with and liked to be among the people.
She was known by many of her loyal following as Mom because of the exceptional care she took of them and her use of a ready, sharp quip to make them think about what they were doing before they could get in trouble.
She was perhaps the most avid of Bingo players, enjoying the game until very recently.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roberta (Bobbie) Wilson, of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. Anna (Kellie) Schrantz, of New Port Richey, Fla.; and one son, Jeff Ripley of DuBois; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the youngest child and the last remaining survivor of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Steiner, her parents, six brothers and sisters, and one daughter, Mrs. Cherie (Dean) Willar of DuBois; and one great-grandson, Christopher Ripley, of Buffalo, N.Y.
Per her wishes, there is no viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
