Gary P. Siple, age 67, of Reynoldsville, Pa., went home to be with our Lord on Oct. 15, 2016, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 24, 1949, in Reynoldsville, Pa., the son of the late Robert and Sarah (Betty Brocious) Siple. He married Eugenia (Jean Armagost) Siple on July 28, 1973. She survives.
Also surviving is one son, Robert (Holly) Siple; and one daughter, Amy (Darin) Carr both of Reynoldsville, Pa.; six grandchildren: Mariah (Sammie) Evans, Dalton Carr, Kearston (Damian) Carr, Erika (Nathan) Siple, and Erynn Siple, all of Reynoldsville, Elaina (Brandon) Burns of DuBois; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Faith Evans of Reynoldsville. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Siple of Falls Creek; and a sister, Betty Lou Lindenpitz of Reynoldsville.
Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Arthur, James and Thomas Siple; and two sisters, Donna Neil and Martha (Sis) Smith.
Gary was a graduate of DuBois Area High School.
He served his country during the Vietnam era.
He worked at GE in Erie, Pa., as a printer, managed a Campground in Florida, was a shipper/receiver at Rescar and was a custodian for the DuBois Area School District.
He attended the Beechtree Union Church of Brockway where he served as Adult Superintendent for Sunday School, organized the Men's Prayer Breakfast, helped with the Youth Group and Vacation Bible School. He also volunteered as a Cub Scout Master and a Pee Wee Coach in Wattsburg, Pa., and as a softball coach in Reynoldsville and volunteered with the Reynoldsville Fire Police.
Funeral services will be held at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville with the Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2016, and services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016.
