Gregory A. "Newt" Barnett, 43, Crestwood Park Circle, Brookville, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at his home.
Born Sept. 28, 1970, in Brookville, he was the son of Gary L. Barnett and Janet I. Weary Barnett of Brookville. They survive.
He was married to Kristy M. Wilson on Aug. 16, 2003, in Brookville. She survives.
He worked for the restaurant at the Truckstops of America in Brookville and also in the maintenance department at the DuBois Walmart.
He was a member of the Stanton United Methodist Church, the Brookville Raider Quarterback Club and was a manager for Brookville Football and Basketball.
He enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates.
He also enjoyed going to Benezette to go elk watching, going to the beach, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his paternal grandmother, Larue Barnett of Brookville; maternal grandmother, Blanche Weary of Brookville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; a niece, Carly; and a nephew, Tyler; a brother, Shawn M. Barnett (Tara) of Brookville.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the Stanton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Howard officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery (Windy Hill), Rose Township.
