Hazel Shaddock, 92, DuBois passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at her residence.
Hazel was born in the state of Oklahoma, graduated from Brady High School, and became a U.S. Navy "Wave" during World War II as a Pharmacists Mate.
Later she and her husband owned the Cherokee Gift Shop on South Brady Street in DuBois. Hazel served as a president of the local Lioness Club and gave talks about Native Americans. Hazel loved being with her family, and with her friends at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the "Young at Heart" group.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandee Schaddock of DuBois, and Brenda Brown of Pittsburgh; four nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Shaddock; one granddaughter, Christy Brown; two brothers, two sisters and two sons-in-law.
A memorial service will be held in the spring. Details will be published at that time.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
