Jeannette M. Peoples, 86, DuBois, passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born May 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ellen Pendleton Cook.
She married Robert LeRoy Peoples Aug. 9, 1947, at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in DuBois. Together, they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. He survives.
Jeannette graduated from Sandy Township High School. She worked at B.F. Goodrich in DuBois and was later a wonderful homemaker.
She was a lifelong member of the DuBois Alliance Church in DuBois. Jeannette was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and her Lord.
She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and spending time with family. Her interests were gardening, canning, reading and crocheting.
Jeannette is also survived by two sons, Robert (Karen) Peoples of Rockton and Rusty (Brenda) Peoples of DuBois; two daughters, Pamela (Tracy) Simmons of DuBois and Peggy (David) Heffner of Rockton; nine grandchildren: Rob Peoples, Kristin Kopshina, Karen Brown, Jennifer Peoples, Amanda Maxim, Ashley Donati and Ryan, Kyle, and Lucas Heffner; five great-grandchildren: Alexis and Cody Brown, Addison Maxim, and Jase and Lilley Heffner; and a sister, Jane (Vincent) Anderson of DuBois.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Sarah Hendricks, Doris Mitchell, and Grace Cook (infant); and her stepfather, Dave Beaton.
Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the Adamson Funeral Chapel Inc. in DuBois and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the DuBois Alliance Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastor Jonathon Ditter officiating. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
