Lyle "Pork" Connacher Jr., 64, Warren, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Warren General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Dec. 8, 1950, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Lyle H. and Rhonda Zimmerman Connacher Sr.
Pork was a Warren area resident since 2000, having moved from Brockway. He was a 1969 graduate of Ridgway Area High School.
He was employed with Cristini Auto Wrecking as a truck driver for 20 years and with Blair Corporation as a vending machine operator.
Pork was a member of Irvine Presbyterian Church, where he was a church greeter and deacon. He was an active member with Chief Cornplanter Council for Boy Scouts of America where he was a unit commissioner and was awarded the District Award of Merit and Silver Beaver. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, Nascar fan and active with Boy Scout of America Troop 22.
He is survived by his three daughters: Hope Boleen and husband, Roger, Carrie Connacher, all of Brockway, Melissa Connacher-Alsbaugh and husband, Charles, of DuBois; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Connacher and wife, Carol, of Ridgway, Francis Connacher and wife, Barb, of Brockway; one sister, Molly Ann Connacher and her companion, Don, of Ridgway; longtime friends, David and Barbara Mourer Jr., of Youngsville; three grandchildren: Ryan, Ariana, Haley; four stepgrandchildren: JoseLynn, Gage, Robert James and Sabryna; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Nicole and Brian David; five siblings: Margaret Paulhala, Franklin, Leonard, Helen and John Connacher.
Friends may call at the Irvine Presbyterian Church Outdoor Worship area from 2-4 p.m. today (Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015). Members of the Boy Scouts will conduct their Scout Vespers Service at 3:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Dennis Ledebur, Pastor, officiating.
