Mildred Mae Chittester, 95, DuBois, entered into eternal rest Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, under the loving care of the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 14, 1919, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Beryl Wineberg Foster. She was married to the late Kenneth M. Chittester for more than 70 years.
Mildred was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also was a member of the women's society at the church and the Good Samaritan circle.
Mildred worked very closely with her husband, Kenneth during the early stages of the development of Chittester Refrigeration.
Her hobbies included baking, candy making, bird watching and tending to her flowers. Mildred enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Karen and her husband, Philip Walsh, of West Chester; three grandchildren: Kenneth and his wife, Bridget (nee Burns) Walsh, Katherine and her husband, Patrick Buckley, and Kimberly and her husband Joseph Dunn III; also survived by seven greatgrandchildren: Shane Walsh, Finnegan Walsh, Addison Buckley, Colin Buckley, Anya Dunn, Joseph Dunn IV and Reagan Mae Dunn.
She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Prudence Foster, and three sisters: Harriett Good, Eileen Lowe and Virginia Lowe; and two brothers, Jack Foster and Robert Foster.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc., DuBois. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at the funeral home with the Rev. Kelley Schanely officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery
