Clyde E. Rickard Jr. 81, York, and formerly of DuBois, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.

Clyde was born in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Clyde E .and Anna G. Sanderbeck Rickard.
He was the husband of Ann L. Kirch Rickard of York. Clyde and Ann celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary July 12, 2013.
Clyde was raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from Allegheny College in 1954, where he was captain of the football team.
Clyde loved the outdoors and his working career was closely related. He was the vice-president of Ideal Products Inc. and vice-president and general manager of the Shakespeare Company. Ideal Products is a well-known manufacturer of outdoor clothing for hunting, fishing and hiking. The Shakespeare Co., which was started in 1897, is one of the largest fishing equipment companies in the world.
He was a member of the Sport Fishing Hall of Fame.
Survivors also include a daughter and three sons: Melinda L. (Ken) Haldeman of York, Clyde E. (Lois) Rickard III of Atlanta, Ga., Dr. George S. (Jo) Rickard of Brookville and Jeffrey A. (Sandra) Rickard of Lexington, S.C.; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandsons; and a sister, MaryAnn (Ed) Huber of Dayton, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Robert Rickard.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of mass, Friday, June 20, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York, PA 17402.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, at the church with the Rev. Fr. James T. Menkus, OFM CAP. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 111 E. Market St., York, Pa.
