Kenneth Scott Hynds

1963 - 2015

Kenneth Scott Hynds, 51, Main Street, Brockway, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at his residence.
Born in DuBois on Oct. 17, 1963, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Mary "Phyllis" Billock Hynds. He was married to Deborah Preston on Nov. 21, 1991. She survives.
Disabled, Kenny had worked in the past as a cook at the Ponderosa and at Pappy's restaurants in DuBois, and worked at Delp Drilling and finally he retired from Owens-Brockway Glass where he worked as a palletizer.
He was Methodist by faith.
Kenny was a member of the VFW Post #7252. He was the first male member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the first male member of District 19, the Brockport Army/Navy Club; and the S.O.I. Club in Brockway.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, building and flying model rockets and listening to the scanner. Kenny also was an avid veterans rights advocate.
He was an avid pool player and served as the captain on several different teams in the Brockway area Pool League.
In addition to his wife Debi, he is also survived by four sons: Brian (Kerry) Hynds of Stump Creek, Chad Hynds and his girlfriend Dayna of Reynoldsville; Kennan Hynds of Brockway and Kyle Hynds and his girlfriend Cameron also of Brockway; one brother, Rick (Sharon) Hynds of Arizona City, Ariz.; a grandson, Cayden Hynds and a granddaughter: Callie Hynds; two nieces, Renee Hynds of Tucson, Ariz.; Ashley Hynds of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and a great-niece, Alina Hynds, also of Arizona City, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, also at the funeral home, with Pastor David Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery.
