AGE: 93 • Vineland

Anthony F. Machise, 93, of Vineland passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home. Born and raised in Hammonton, Anthony was a longtime Vineland resident. He was a clothing cutter for Newell Clothing in Vineland until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. Mr. Machise served his country as an US Army serviceman during WWII stationed in Germany. Anthony's interests included gardening, wine making, going to the casinos and following the Philadelphia sport teams. Before his illness, Anthony enjoyed spending time at his seasonal residence in Naples, FL. He was a devoted husband and brother, loving father and grandfather and he will be sadly missed. Anthony was predeceased by his wife Mary in 2009, his parents, Frank and Angelina. (Femino) Machise, uncle, John Machise, brother, Joseph Machise, sisters, Josephine Tomasso, Janet Machise and Catherine Tomasso. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughters Gerry Volpe (Steve) and Karen Pulman (Ken), sisters Angelina Farina (Faustin) of Vineland and Anna Fotia of Linden, NJ, grandchildren Darrin Pulman, Kristin Pulman, Stephen Volpe, Melissa Venditti (Shawn), four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 8:30 to 10:30 am Monday at St. Padre Pio Parish-Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Ave, Vineland. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 am at the church. Burial to follow at Siloam Cemetery, Valley Ave., Vineland.
