Louise D. Ferus was born April 6, 1924, in San Francisco to James and Augusta (Ostermann) Larkin. James Larkin, Louise's father, was a San Francisco firefighter, who died in the line of duty, and Mrs. Larkin was a housewife.
Mrs. Ferus is predeceased by her parents, James and Augusta Larkin; her sisters, Terry Winterstein, Carmen Orbanosky, Mary Sackett and Marie Knight; and her brothers, Bill Larkin and James Larkin.
Louise is survived by her brother, Edward Larkin of Kent, Wash.; and her children, Ron Wheeler (Linda) of Palm Springs, Calif., William Hatch (Gloria) of Albany, Ore., Marion Hatch (Deanne) of Scottsdale, Ariz., Cynthia Pustizzi (Michael) of New Jersey and Daniel Ferus (Shirley) of Evans, Ga. Included are 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Louise loved to cook, design and sew. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Trinity Episcopal Church and cooked for the Trinity Episcopal Church soup kitchen.
She worked as a welder along with her sisters during World War II, was a restaurant manager for Horn & Hardart in San Francisco until she married her husband Karl Ferus and returned with him to Millville in 1950. Louise worked for Owens-Illinois for 10 years and worked for the Decorators Boutique in Vineland. She is greatly missed!
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
