DORIS BROWN Obituary
Doris Ruth Brown went home to her Lord on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, after an extended illness.
A longtime Millville resident, Doris worked on her brother's farm, and for Wheaton Glass and LG Nester. She retired from Betco Glass. A faithful member of Second United Methodist Church, she attended worship, Sunday school and Bible studies, as well as serving the church in many other ways.Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her family.
She and her late husband, Joseph W. Brown Sr., had three children. Gloria Jean died shortly after birth. Joe and his wife, Sandy, reside in Millville, while their son David and his wife, Christine Brown, live in Souderton, Pa., with their children, Isaac and Allie. Marion Thornley and her husband, Charles, live in Millville with their sons, Chuck and Robbie. Marion lovingly cared for her mother during her extended illness.
Doris also will be dearly missed by her brother, Joseph Simmerman in Florida; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Simmerman, Pearl Loder, Marion Nazario and Grace Riggin.
She was predeceased by her brothers, William and Gil Simmerman, and Edward Loder; and her sisters, Rachel Robinson and Martha Daisey.
Graveside services will be private. A service of remembrance will be held at the family's convenience.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, Holy Redeemer Home Care and Hospice; or Second Untied Methodist Church in Millville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home in Millville.
