James L. Ballurio III, 69, of Vineland passed away on Friday morning, Oct. 26, 2012, in Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia, after being in failing health.
Jim was born and raised in Vineland, where he remained a lifelong city resident. He was the son of the late Rae (Chalk) and James L. Ballurio Jr.
Before retiring in 1991 with 25 years of service, Jim was employed as a detective sergeant in the City of Vineland Police Department. After retirement he was employed by the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office and also operated the Ballurio Detective Agency. Jim attended the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, enjoyed hunting and was a member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Josephine (Riggio); four children, Jim Ballurio IV (Helen), Kimberly Ballurio (John), Craig Ballurio (Debbie) and Michael Ballurio; four grandchildren, Nelson, Miranda, Lauren and Kristin (Joey); two brothers, Peter and Barry Ballurio; two sisters, Sandra and Toni; as well as many nieces and nephews in the extended Ballurio and Riggio families.
Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Road, Vineland, where his funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
