Leonard J. Nightlinger Obituary

Leonard J. Nightlinger, 83, of Millville (formerly of Vineland) passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, after an extended illness in Inspira Medical Center Vineland.

Leonard was born in Wildwood to the late William H. and Katherine (Clark) Nightlinger and lived in Vineland prior to moving to Millville many years ago. Leonard graduated from Vineland High School, Class of 1948. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

Leonard was owner and operator of Leonard's Beauty Salon, with locations both in Vineland and Millville, for over five years.

Prior to retirement in 1993, he worked for Landis Sewerage Authority for 27 years. Leonard was an Usher for Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Isidore the Farmer Church and was a member of the Vineland VFW No. 147. Leonard will be greatly missed by his wife and brothers and sisters, and by all who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his brother, Billy Nightlinger, and his sister, Evelyn Teahan.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Edith (Hvezda) Nightlinger of Millville; two brothers; Larry Nightlinger and companion Phyllis of Toms River, and Jack Nightlinger and wife Janie of Edgewater, Fla.; his sister, Gertrude M. Thompson of Vineland; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by his 10 year old Chihuahua, "Chi Chi."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish Church of St. Isidore the Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends may gather from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
